Richard Victor Messinger, having had a military background in his family for over several generations including his father, a WWII gunner in the Army Air Corp who was shot down by the Nazis over Northern Italy, saved by local partisans and then spending years in VA Hospitals and losing many family members to the ravages of Nazi Concentration Camps may have instigated and laid the foundation throughout the years of his writing of the book.
Having recently completed the SECOND EDITION of "THE MAN WITH THE JAGGED RED SCAR" which now includes over thirty photos, paintings and historical documents interspersed within the text of this historical novel he is now currently working on a sequel to his novel, which is part of "THE CRYING KANGLINGS OF GOD" series, now on Apple Books. A Kangling is an ancient Tibetan instrument made from a human femur and plays a pivotal part in another storyline in the "The Man With The Jagged Red Scar." His knack for fiction, non-fiction, thrillers, biographies, mythology, natural history and art all come together to form some of the best researched literary goals.

Richard Victor Messinger has advanced degrees from both The New School For Social Research and is certified for his Doctorate at Columbia University. In addition, he has been involved with assisting the larger community during times of natural disasters and has worked with several groups providing support to individuals with handicapping conditions during times of emergency situations such as hurricanes and forrest fires, as well as other areas of risk management. Also, for several years he has worked closely with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, serving as the liaison between the CDC and the New York Academy of Medicine, the New York City Law Department and various other groups involved with Risk Management and injury prevention.
In addition, he has extensively studied landscape design, art history, and the sciences of the natural world. He became a landscape artist after having visited Monet's house and gardens in Giverny as an exchange student with a family in Paris during the early 1960's....all of which provided him with much of material for THE MAN WITH THE JAGGED RED SCAR.
